September Update- Wendi the Wendigo, etsy's back, Zazzle merch, and more

Image
OMFG I do NOT want to be on this dang computer. but OMFG I really want to share this new doll, and all the updates I have for the month! So, without further adieu, may I introduce Wendi: Wendi is a Skelita Calaveras custom, and a counterpart to the Flora doll.  This was my very first Skelita make-over, and I was nervous, I always get nervous when I make the creepy dolls. I just want them to be NOT PRETTY but NOT UGLY and also resemble the look I have in my head. I think I did okay with her, I really like how her eyes turned out- a slight bit off, wanted to give her a dead stare, as she is...a dead thing, you know?   She is up for auction on eBay HERE , with lots more pictures and a little write up.  If she does not find a new home from eBay, I will be putting her up in my freshly re-opened etsy shop: zombietoes.etsy.com I am also hoping to get some other doll related items listed on etsy in the soonish future, as it is a bit empty over there at the moment....

August update- Flora the Fawn

Image
So, hello! This update is doll heavy, fair warning. For one thing, I have updated my custom doll gallery on the website- some new faces are there to be seen now! Not all the finished dollies are up there yet, like I keep saying I am behind with the updates (like, a YEAR behind) and I have a lot of art. But more so, I just don't want to be spending all my art time updating my website. I know that's hOw YOu mAKe MONey but I am still only mildly enticed by that sentiment.  Anyway, new dolls to behold can be found on my Doll Gallery  page- clicking on the thumbnails will bring you to their individual pages with more photos, a little write up, and details on outfits, shoes, and accessories. I also have a freshly finished doll that I've just listed for auction on eBay- HERE . Her name is Flora, and she is one of two sisters, the other will be coming along in a few weeks.) She is a very sunny fawn girl- I had this urge to go with a cottagecore theme. So here is a quick look at ...

NEW DOLL! Plus sneak peek, ramble, and some printed goods

Image
Okay, well Happy April Fool's Day...  Something of note: I am very very partial to jesters and the classic "King's Fool" trope, and over the years have drawn TONS of jesters, clowns, jokers, and all sorts of strange-humored creatures...In fact, the little demon nymphs I've taken to drawing over the past while certainly have their roots in my jester art.   Of course, all I have to share today are pretty fairies (sorry lol!) but still...it is SPRINGTIME and I am ready to only have to wear one pair of pants when I go outside. There are flowers poking out through the mud now, and the other day I even saw a wasp!  So, I suppose the fairies are appropriate :) Very first, I have a Featured Art for April up on my website- she is a repainted Monster High Operetta doll going by Gloria now.  Fashioned after a purple poofy flower of some unknown variety, she is very pleased to make your acquaintance.  For more info on her, photos, and all her little details (what...

"Smudge Signals" Painting, Sunday ACEO auction, + ramble

Image
Hellooo! Today I have a new painting (yeah, again!), and also a ramble about de-cluttering, as well as the preview for this Sunday's ACEO auction! So, firstly, a new painting- "Smudge Signals"- yes, this is another painting based of a previous ACEO I drew (of the same title bc I am lazy).  This rendition is very brightly colored; the initial drawing was much more somber, so I wanted to give her some rainbow.   She is an original acrylic painting, 8.5" x 11" on sheet canvas, unframed but very easy to do so!  She is currently available for purchase on eBay- click HERE (or her picture above) to view the listing and more details about the painting.   I suppose I will just show the other art before I begin my ramble- this is the preview of the Sunday morning auction on eBay: This is "Honey Fae"- an original ACEO illustration (pen and ink) that will be available to bid on starting this Sunday (Feb 27).   I had a TON of fun drawing all the teeny fl...

Morla Painting and To the Nines Prints!

Image
Hii! Well, I skipped a week of posting! Been busy in the studio (also been baking a lot) but... I do have a "new" painting to share, and also info about To the Nines (2t9) limited edition prints!  Anyhow, she is "Morla": "Morla" is an original acrylic painting (8.5" x 11" on sheet canvas, unframed) and she is currently available for purchase on eBay- click HERE or on her photo above to view the listing. Now...I have FINALLY gotten all my To the Nines ACEO Limited Edition prints together and listed! All three series are available (Wishing, Home, and Kitchen) as individual ACEO prints. These prints are limited to runs of 4 each (so, only four of every ACEO is printed in this format ever).  Each ACEO is hand embelllished with glittery/shimmery/metallic gel pens, signed, numbered, dated, and laminated!  I am very pleased with how they turned out- very happy I decided to print them myself and limit the numbers, as I love the extra embellishments and...

ACEO Sneak Peek and Featured Art

Image
Greetings! As it is a new month, I do have a new Featured Art on my website, and I also have a glimpse at some upcoming ACEO illustrations to share today. So here we go... Featured Art on my website for February is a large painting of my original "Smokeshow" genie illustration. The painting itself is quite large for what I usually offer, at 18" x 24" on gallery wrapped canvas.   Here is a picture: "Smokeshow" is an acrylic painting, 18" x 24" on gallery wrapped canvas. You can view her page on my website HERE , where there is a full write up and purchase information (which can also be found HERE ).  And now for a very quick, very unfinished sneak peek at the little batch of ACEOs I am currently working on: As you can see, they have not been shaded or colored yet...but one if them will be completed and up for auction on eBay for Sunday morning!  I have been busy getting To the Nines limited edition ACEOs printed and embellished and rea...

Spring Garden

Image
Hi hi! Well, brand new art today! I kind of pulled myself out of my funk, at least enough to do some chores and make (and FINISH!) some art. Being stuck inside due to frigid temps, I decided a bunch of bright flowers and a variety of fairy folk would do me well...so here I have "Spring Garden": This is a set of four (4) ACEOs that make up one larger image...a puzzle of sorts...This is a smaller version of my "To the Nines" ACEO series. Each ACEO section features a different "flavor" of fairy, and some matching little friends, over a colorful backdrop of art nouveau style flowers, leaves, and vines.  Each ACEO will be sold individually- I have three of them listed right now on eBay. These three have Buy it Now option enabled, so if someone scoops them that way first, the auction disappears, so go quickly if you are interested! The remaining ACEO in the set will be up for auction with no Buy it Now, so everyone can have a chance at getting one! The three wi...

Medusa Painting

Image
Hiii,  Well, I think I have a touch of burn out, or ennui, or seasonal depression, or SOMETHING, because I just have so little motivation lately. I realize this is not exciting news to read, so I will move on to some art...but if you notice some slack in the routines, it's just me wallowing slowly through the goo of life.  Not to be confused with me vigorously sloshing through the goo of life.  Not a LOT of new art, but a MEDUSA PAINTING! Yaaaay!   "Medusa Pose" is a small original painting, measuring 5" x 7" , acrylic on canvas panel.  She does not come framed, but is easily popped into any 5" x 7" frame you have kicking around... There is also a wire hanger affixed to the back, so you could just put her up right on the wall sans frame. She is currently up for auction on eBay HERE - feel free to check out the listing for some more pictures. Oh, what else...Ah! I remember I mentioned that I was waiting on some To the Nines print proofs, to see which d...

Art Nouveau Fruit

Image
Hi all, I've decided for the new year to post the blog on Sundays, as that is a better time schedule wise. I always THINK I will be ready by Fridays, however it seems I have everything together but the energy at that point in the week.  So, not much to share, really. I do have this lovely new art nouveau style ACEO "Apple" to show you: She has already been sold, but I will be offering prints of her at some point in the nearish future.  I also have some mock prints of the To the Nines series coming in the mail in a few days; depending on if they look decent or not, I will hopefully have ACEO prints of those as well.  I did start a few new paintings, but OMG I didn't take any photos and they are under a pile of things in my studio, so I will have to share those another time. Of course, there are a few things up for sale on eBay, including the weekly Sunday ACEO auction- see everything HERE ! Okee, it is time for me to sit in my recliner and munch some foods. Hugs hugs...

Happy New Year!- Featured Art, upcoming projects, a sneak peek!

Image
Before I ramble, I want to wish each of you a hopeful, sparkly, magical New Year!  This is how I feel about 2021: Also, as usual, I am mostly behind schedule in the majority of my projects, but on time for others...and it will probably always be this way. I try so hard to stick to one or two pieces at a time, but then like halfway through those I am getting brand new ideas. I just write them all down, and go back to them later. Some end up being shite, others need more thought before action, and some are just quick sketches and easy. This weekend I have Featured Art for January, some ACEOs, and a sneak peek of a new painting. I will probably ramble about upcoming projects, too... Let's do the ACEOs first, then: the art nouveau inspired produce ACEO "Broccoli" is up for auction and ends this Sunday!  I just adore her, and I cannot wait to get started on her sisters! You can view the auction HERE on eBay, or click on her picture: And the ACEO I will be listing this upcomi...

To the Nines- Kitchen is complete!

Image
Well, I missed my Sunday mark for this, but it is here now! "To the Nines- Kitchen" is a set of 9 ACEOs that make up a larger picture...just a regular fantasy kitchen with lots of critters doing kitchen stuff: Each individual ACEO is listed on Ebay (Buy it Now $15)- you can view them all HERE Additionally, I have posters up on Zazzle of the full illustration- those can be found at the link HERE . Okee, I am quite tired and still have a few "office" things to get done, so I will be off to do those now...many hugs! Xo Emily website eBay Zazzle

Sneak Peek, December Featured Art, and new ACEOs!

Image
Friday Hellos! I have new art, sneak peek/WIP pic, and the featured art for this month... Remember those "weird" drawings I mentioned last week? Well, I listed one of them this evening- "Weird Girl 1" (I know, such a creative title, hehe). I saw a very well composed photo of some kind of bug (I think it was a variety of mantis, but it was very furry looking and had lots of feathery tendrils, and I am no bug expert)...so that is what inspired this first weird girl: She is currently up for Auction/Buy It Now on eBay HERE if you have any interest in homing her. I will be putting up "Weird Girl 2" on Sunday am (might be closer to noon time, I think I will be at brunch with Dad beforehand) but here is a preview of her... I was very inspired with the bugs, so found some cool looking moth reference pictures to work from for her.  Again, she will be listed for auction on Sunday- check this link to see if she is up yet:   All Em's Auctions What is next here......

Four Eyes - Dark Nymph and Kitties!

Image
Hi hi!  (headache gone! nothing major!) "Four Eyes" is all finished up, and I LOVE HER!! I kinda want to keep her...I pretty much feel this way about most pieces, but this one particularly! She IS based off of one of my favorite ACEOs, and then I added in some tiny evil cyclops kitty shenanigans that were not in the original. So, here she is: The original "Four Eyes" painting is acrylic on cotton canvas sheet (the same kind of canvas I use for my stretched/gallery wrapped paintings, stretched and coated, just flat)...it is currently up for purchase on eBay HERE (Buy It Now $75, free shipping to US).  I will have posters and most likely ACEOs very soon.  There are close up pictures on the eBay page as well, and eventually she will have a place on my website with more pictures and a bunch of writing. I am having some frustration in my "real life", and it is now seeping into my art a little bit...only the smallest amount. Being an artist is kind of weird fo...

Floating Daisies Nymph + website updates

Image
Happy Friday! Just a quick post this week- I have a bit of a headache and it is sucking to look at this screen, ugh!  I did update my website gallery with a handful of unposted art- I can't rightfully call them "new", as I drew them awhile ago!  Just trying to get caught up...But you can check it all out HERE ! The larger images at the top of the page are the new additions, and clicking on any of them will bring you to the Zazzle print page.  Hopefully more gallery additions before the end of the month. Also, I've been painting and such, working on "Four Eyes", and thought I'd use some leftover paint for some ACEOs!  Getting details in paint in this size is always a challenge for me...but here is one of them, titled "Floating Daisies": "Floating Daisies" is an original 2.5" x 3.5" (ACEO) acrylic painting on canvas of a playful fawn nymph girl...she is currently up for auction on eBay (ends Friday, November 19 at 6:23 pm EST...

"Four Eyes" Jester Art Work in Progress + New Mermaid ACEO

Image
Greetings! Well, dinner is heating up in the oven (leftovers!) and while I wait for that, let's share some new stuff! Firstly, I have just begun a new painting (from an older ACEO that I love so much) and figured I'd post up my one progress photo.  Tentatively titled "Four Eyes"- based off of my "The Eyes 4" ACEO. Just some shading in browns and grey for now, unsure as to final color choices or background...kind of just playing around with it: The other new art today is a mermaid ACEO- she is reading a book from her library! Books are so fun to draw. As are the underwater worlds that I have never been to... "Leisure Read" is an original ACEO illustration (inks on bristol, 3.5" x 2.5") and is currently available on eBay HERE .   I know I have been rather crap about listing things on eBay these past few weeks. There are some new Open Edition ACEOs coming up, and I've just gotten through a new batch of Limited Edition ACEOs ...

To the Nines "Home" ACEO series - complete!

Image
Well, it's finished! Yaaay!! There are so many little details, and I am really quite happy with how it turned out.  It is more muted in color than the previous To the Nines ("Wishing"), but this was purposeful. I wanted a bit more cohesion in the whole piece, so I chose a color scheme for the entire image this time. Usually i don't plan the colors out, i just pick one or two and then add whatever I want during. But sometimes it is nice to have limits lol! Here is the full image: At any rate, let me explain again my To the Nines series.  It is essentially a set of 9 complete ACEOs that also make up a larger story/image.  I am rather partial to puzzles and things that fit together but are different. Also, it seems to speak to my need to visually organize everything.  "Home" is the second work in the series (You can view the first work "Wishing" HERE ). I have plans to continue this in the future, though at the moment I am a little behind on other th...

New ACEOs and "To the Nines" ACEO series sneak peek

Image
Happy Friday! Just a quick post today, to share the new ACEOs I have up for auction on eBay, as well as a sneak peek of my latest illustration project. Definitely feeling the Halloween vibes already, so that has themed the new art cards this week!  The one currently up for auction is titled "Bone Garden"- a spritely goat nymph, frolicking through the garden of bones, collecting little pieces here and there in her tin pail.   "Bone Garden" is an original illustration, and she is currently up for auction on eBay HERE !   The OTHER new ACEO illustration I will be listing this week (Sunday morning, around 11am EST) is called "Candy Fairy"- sometimes my titles are not so creative, lol!  But she is very pretty, I like how the colors turned out: Again, "Candy Fairy" will be listed for auction (starting bid $7.35) on Sunday morning (10/10).  There are also a handful of other creepy/autumn/Halloween themed ACEOs up for auction now- you can see all my auc...

Oh Hi, October! Dragon Hugs and Updates

Image
So, it's been about a year since I've blogged... Of course, I have been creating art that whole time, and always had good intentions to update regularly...but I seem to always put it off.  Will very much try to stick to the perfectly fine schedule I have set for myself this time. No promises. Happy October, though!!! My very favorite season is upon us, and it is rather short, so I have been trying to enjoy it to the fullest!  I've begun baking again, and going for walks in the forest, watching (more) scary movies, wearing hoodies!  Soon I can wear my overly fuzzy socks again! Woo! I have a few little updates, but let's start with some art!  October's "Featured Art" on my website is a recent painting titled "Dragon Hugs".  A portrait of one strange three eyed nymph and her loyal friend.   She is an original 8.5" x 11" acrylic painting on canvas (sheet)- the original has bee sold!  However, there are open edition ACEO prints (2 sided!) a...

Billie the Love Goat- Monster High Doll Repaint

Image
I finished her! :D This is Billie- the Love Goat.   There is a full write up HERE on my website, with a little background story, her birthday, all the things she is made from, and a bunch of pictures.   She did not come out exactly as I had envisioned her- which was a very long time before I began working on her...For instance, the original coloring for her was gong to be red hair, and her legs would fade from lavender to red to black on the hooves.  She was kind of designed in a "dark valentine nymph" theme.  Her outfit was going to be sheer black, similar to what she has on now, but with a really big collar (I don't know what they are called, but think Evil Queen).  She was going to have spikey parks on her arms and ankles. But that was back in February of 2018. Then she sat, deconstructed, in a box next to my desk for the better part of 2018, after which I pulled her out of the pile and began sculpting her tail, horns, and ears. I had left he...

Coffee Genie- Fantasy Art Nouveau

Image
Hi! New art! New art! Yay!  I feel like it has been awhile since I have listed anything on eBay...but I have a few things to show off currently. First, a piece I started back in February, riiight before the shit hit the fan.  I know this because I found her shoved between the back pages of one of my sketchbooks a week or so ago, and realized that I had totally forgotten about her!  Buuut, bonus, she was already sketched out, so I got to start inking right away.  I love it when the idea is already plotted out, and I can just zone out with my pens while I listen to bizarre documentaries in the background. Anyhoo, introducing "Coffee Genie"- she is an original 7" x 10.25" fantasy illustration- mixed media: acrylic paint, archival inks on bristol.  Currently up for grabs on eBay HERE ! I really love coffee, and genies, and art nouveau, and I am trying to learn to love the color pink, but I do love painting, and I love smoke, and oh did I say that I LOVE COFFEE...
