NEW DOLL! Plus sneak peek, ramble, and some printed goods

Image
Okay, well Happy April Fool's Day...  Something of note: I am very very partial to jesters and the classic "King's Fool" trope, and over the years have drawn TONS of jesters, clowns, jokers, and all sorts of strange-humored creatures...In fact, the little demon nymphs I've taken to drawing over the past while certainly have their roots in my jester art.   Of course, all I have to share today are pretty fairies (sorry lol!) but still...it is SPRINGTIME and I am ready to only have to wear one pair of pants when I go outside. There are flowers poking out through the mud now, and the other day I even saw a wasp!  So, I suppose the fairies are appropriate :) Very first, I have a Featured Art for April up on my website- she is a repainted Monster High Operetta doll going by Gloria now.  Fashioned after a purple poofy flower of some unknown variety, she is very pleased to make your acquaintance.  For more info on her, photos, and all her little details (what...

ACEO Sneak Peek and Featured Art

Image
Greetings! As it is a new month, I do have a new Featured Art on my website, and I also have a glimpse at some upcoming ACEO illustrations to share today. So here we go... Featured Art on my website for February is a large painting of my original "Smokeshow" genie illustration. The painting itself is quite large for what I usually offer, at 18" x 24" on gallery wrapped canvas.   Here is a picture: "Smokeshow" is an acrylic painting, 18" x 24" on gallery wrapped canvas. You can view her page on my website HERE , where there is a full write up and purchase information (which can also be found HERE ).  And now for a very quick, very unfinished sneak peek at the little batch of ACEOs I am currently working on: As you can see, they have not been shaded or colored yet...but one if them will be completed and up for auction on eBay for Sunday morning!  I have been busy getting To the Nines limited edition ACEOs printed and embellished and rea...

Happy New Year!- Featured Art, upcoming projects, a sneak peek!

Image
Before I ramble, I want to wish each of you a hopeful, sparkly, magical New Year!  This is how I feel about 2021: Also, as usual, I am mostly behind schedule in the majority of my projects, but on time for others...and it will probably always be this way. I try so hard to stick to one or two pieces at a time, but then like halfway through those I am getting brand new ideas. I just write them all down, and go back to them later. Some end up being shite, others need more thought before action, and some are just quick sketches and easy. This weekend I have Featured Art for January, some ACEOs, and a sneak peek of a new painting. I will probably ramble about upcoming projects, too... Let's do the ACEOs first, then: the art nouveau inspired produce ACEO "Broccoli" is up for auction and ends this Sunday!  I just adore her, and I cannot wait to get started on her sisters! You can view the auction HERE on eBay, or click on her picture: And the ACEO I will be listing this upcomi...

Sneak Peek, December Featured Art, and new ACEOs!

Image
Friday Hellos! I have new art, sneak peek/WIP pic, and the featured art for this month... Remember those "weird" drawings I mentioned last week? Well, I listed one of them this evening- "Weird Girl 1" (I know, such a creative title, hehe). I saw a very well composed photo of some kind of bug (I think it was a variety of mantis, but it was very furry looking and had lots of feathery tendrils, and I am no bug expert)...so that is what inspired this first weird girl: She is currently up for Auction/Buy It Now on eBay HERE if you have any interest in homing her. I will be putting up "Weird Girl 2" on Sunday am (might be closer to noon time, I think I will be at brunch with Dad beforehand) but here is a preview of her... I was very inspired with the bugs, so found some cool looking moth reference pictures to work from for her.  Again, she will be listed for auction on Sunday- check this link to see if she is up yet:   All Em's Auctions What is next here......

To the Nines "Home" ACEO series - complete!

Image
Well, it's finished! Yaaay!! There are so many little details, and I am really quite happy with how it turned out.  It is more muted in color than the previous To the Nines ("Wishing"), but this was purposeful. I wanted a bit more cohesion in the whole piece, so I chose a color scheme for the entire image this time. Usually i don't plan the colors out, i just pick one or two and then add whatever I want during. But sometimes it is nice to have limits lol! Here is the full image: At any rate, let me explain again my To the Nines series.  It is essentially a set of 9 complete ACEOs that also make up a larger story/image.  I am rather partial to puzzles and things that fit together but are different. Also, it seems to speak to my need to visually organize everything.  "Home" is the second work in the series (You can view the first work "Wishing" HERE ). I have plans to continue this in the future, though at the moment I am a little behind on other th...

Oh Hi, October! Dragon Hugs and Updates

Image
So, it's been about a year since I've blogged... Of course, I have been creating art that whole time, and always had good intentions to update regularly...but I seem to always put it off.  Will very much try to stick to the perfectly fine schedule I have set for myself this time. No promises. Happy October, though!!! My very favorite season is upon us, and it is rather short, so I have been trying to enjoy it to the fullest!  I've begun baking again, and going for walks in the forest, watching (more) scary movies, wearing hoodies!  Soon I can wear my overly fuzzy socks again! Woo! I have a few little updates, but let's start with some art!  October's "Featured Art" on my website is a recent painting titled "Dragon Hugs".  A portrait of one strange three eyed nymph and her loyal friend.   She is an original 8.5" x 11" acrylic painting on canvas (sheet)- the original has bee sold!  However, there are open edition ACEO prints (2 sided!) a...

November Featured Art, project sneak peek, and a ramble

Image
Hi! Well, I realize now I lost track of my posting days, and only managed ONE blog post last month.  This is unacceptable to me. A long, long time ago, I posted a blog nearly every day.  But I am older and slower now (neither of which is a bad thing) and I have taken to working on only one or two projects at a time, instead of 3-5. So, there is a lot more downtime in between completed arts. Thus, less stuff for me to post about. I guess it also comes down to the amount of attention I have been giving to home projects over the "pandemic months".  Sewed some cat beds, winter curtains, and a bunch of masks.  I have been doing some laundry by hand, as I have limited quarters to use in the laundry room. So all small items get washed in the sink, and air dried in the kitchen.  Lots of baking now that the weather has turned cold. Winterizing windows with plastic and then big, thick curtains that I sewed from fleece blankets.  And of course the dishes and cle...
