 Hi hi,  Okay. Horror movies are my favorite. I was recently commissioned to make a custom Pearl Monster High doll, and OHMAHGAW I have not had this much fun making a custom anything ever!  Firstly, the movie is SO GOOD. The character of Pearl is chef's kiss. I dont want to spoil anything, so that is all I will say on the movie. -afore stated is my personal opinion only, and should not be taken as fact- I decided to make her two outfits, because I couldnt choose between them, bonus that I had 2 bag ideas and her shoes are the same through the whole movie. She is precious. I painted little pitchfork eyeshines in her eyes, i finagled her hair into the twinbraids, i gave her scarecrow earrings with moveable limbs... gah I love her!  So, she is in her new home now, and she will be up on the website with all the photos in a little bit (week or so). Back with a new bug girl! I didnt mean to do two bugs in a row, but it happened.  This blue moth fairy girl is fluffy, sparkly, and big! I did model her a lot after my Rosa May Draculaura custom, and I like that they have the same fuzzy cuteness in different colors and sizes. Honestly, I have never been the biggest fan of Abbey dolls, the G1 face sculpt is visually too intense for me, so I never worked with her as a base. But G3 Abbey is amazing. (Truly, I prefer working with the G3 bodies, even with all the pattern adjusting). Thrilled that this fuzzy lady turned out so wonderfully! This post is doll stuff! Yey! I am showing off a new Lux custom, and a sneak peek of the latest lady. Plus a teeny update? Onto the Lux dolly, then. I have luxed out Honey Swamp, Lagoona Blue, and Gigi Grant so far...started as a challenge, but now I am just going to try to make one of each character doll (g1 for now). The latest Lux is Draculaura herself! I wanted to give her lots of layers, and was in the middle of a Deadwood series re-watch, so I think the Joanie Stubbs of it all got in my head a bit.  But here are some photos for now: She has been sold, but I will give her a page on my website gallery with the next update (soon I swear!) With lots more pictures and if I can figure out how to get a video on there, I have her spinning on a lazy Susan. Phhh I am such an old lady dork. A quick note before the sneak peek...  Heeey... I'm just never going to be consistent with online visibility. 🤷 But I do still exist! And I am making art, despite not having anything new listed anywhere. No worries, just being insular. I did kind of get stuck in a creative rut for awhile...well, it was more like burnt out with drawing. I have been messing around with doll customizing a lot more, which I have always been drawn to (no pun!) as it lets me flex my mixed media skills in a cohesive way. So, there are dolls to share: Showing my age here a little bit with this guy- Johnny the Homicidal Maniac Monster High doll!  He was a STRUGGLE- I had originally used a Deuce head, but in the end decided that it just was too angular and looked like the Joker from the Batman comics, so I ended up using an EAH Raven head- never personally liked the roundness of those doll's faces, but it was perfect for this project.  Well, the holidays got the best of me. Between festivities, work, customs, and general duties, I did not update my blog, website, and even fell off my Sunday eBay auction routine :(  But I am back now, and I have a sneak peek of the next 2 Sunday auctions! Also, a bit of insight into my current projects, which were also taking up more time than I thought they would (my bad). First, the fresh new arts- this upcoming Sunday (February 2) I will be listing "Pebble Pixie" for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $8.50: and Sunday, February 9 will be "Cherry Blossom Fawn", same place, same starting bid: Generally I post them around 11am PST, though sometimes I am running a bit late...it depends on the work day (yes, I work weekends and I list things from my phone).   So, I have not updated my website/galleries with any new art or dolls, though I do have some that I need to get to (we will get back on the website update train in Feb!) A few new dolls, a few new fantasy...

You guys Happy October! It is my FAVORITE time of the year- the colors, the smells, the thin veil! Also, wicked hectic and just dang busy.  As a result, I have done a very small amount of art this month.  Or rather, I have a very small amount of it finished and ready to show. But it is Halloween-esque, so let's go: Samoween Treat is a custom 'Trick R Treat' Sam character doll, created with a Monster High G3 Toralei doll.  Her orange basetone and her weird little smirk sculpt inspired me to finally make a Sam, and I am pretty pleased with how she came out. Everything is handmade, her hair is rooted acrylic yarn, she has a wearable mask and other familiar accessories from the movie.   The website has not been updated with her likeness yet, but the doll herself is available for purchase in my etsy shop: zombietoes.etsy.com You can see many photos, check out her accessories and outfit in detail, and read more about her there, too!  Another doll, now...and one o...

 OMFG I do NOT want to be on this dang computer. but OMFG I really want to share this new doll, and all the updates I have for the month! So, without further adieu, may I introduce Wendi: Wendi is a Skelita Calaveras custom, and a counterpart to the Flora doll.  This was my very first Skelita make-over, and I was nervous, I always get nervous when I make the creepy dolls. I just want them to be NOT PRETTY but NOT UGLY and also resemble the look I have in my head. I think I did okay with her, I really like how her eyes turned out- a slight bit off, wanted to give her a dead stare, as she is...a dead thing, you know?   She is up for auction on eBay HERE , with lots more pictures and a little write up.  If she does not find a new home from eBay, I will be putting her up in my freshly re-opened etsy shop: zombietoes.etsy.com I am also hoping to get some other doll related items listed on etsy in the soonish future, as it is a bit empty over there at the moment....

 So, hello! This update is doll heavy, fair warning. For one thing, I have updated my custom doll gallery on the website- some new faces are there to be seen now! Not all the finished dollies are up there yet, like I keep saying I am behind with the updates (like, a YEAR behind) and I have a lot of art. But more so, I just don't want to be spending all my art time updating my website.  Oopsies, it's been two years... I've been making art that whole time, but keeping up with all the online stuff is just not my forte. I don't even mess with social media anymore- a decision that was made for my mental health, and you know what? RECOMMEND. Anyhow, a quick update- I have hashed out a schedule for updating my "online presence" on a regular basis- once a month I will update my art galleries , my blog, and my web shop with art, prints, news, dolls, whatever I have going on.  Hopefully, I will not fall off again and disappear into the void.  Hi hi! I'm just popping in here to give an update- I have been off visiting family, and I am home for about 10 minutes before I go off to house sit for some friends.  It has been a rather busy summer- great to distract from the oppressive heat!  Honestly, I am tolerant of it mostly, as long as I stay out of direct sunlight.  I think I might be turning into a vampire, really, the sun HURTS me, my eyes mostly. They just start watering as soon as it hits high noon. Sunglasses help a little, but I tend to stick to the shade when I am out and about. Ummm, not a lot of new projects to show, everything is still in my head or just chicken scratches on scrap paper.  I have taken a long break from the To the Nines project series.  I think I will save those for cold winter days, as they need a lot of focus, and I get distracted easily in the warm weather.  It's a seasonal thing for me- I gather a lot of inspiration while I am busy running around in the spring an...

However, the place I order from is refusing to print up her COA as it goes against their copyright policies...Fine, I will print one up myself, fiiine, ughhh.   Oh, the printer is out of ink. Hi hi! It is HOT here...mostly skipped right over spring. But there is sunshine, and birds and flowers everywhere, and leaves on the trees! (Yay privacy and shade!) For some strange reason, every time it gets very hot, my mind bothers me to watch Stephen King movies. Mainly the old ones such as Christine, Cujo, the original Pet Semetary, etc...there is something quite nostalgic about them. I no longer question it. Anyhow, I have been making SLOW progress on my latest Monster High repainted doll. This one will be an Emily the Strange- another nostalgic thing for me. I first "met" Emily in the late 90's, down in the Little Five Points section of Atlanta. Please know- I realize this is like a HUGE drug haven now, but back then it was more the "quirky little art town" within the larger city, and it reminded us of our towns up north, so we would go visit on the weekends sometimes. Of course I am SURE there were drugs there at that time too. BUT WHATEVER, we are tal...

Oh..hiii! Got back from my sister's wedding in Florida on Monday, realized I had a lot of things to attend to, and proceeded to do none of those things. Now, I admit I should have planned more thoroughly for my return. But the best I can muster is one day at a time right now. So...I will be taking a week off from listing new original art. I just need the extra week to regain my bearings. I am not a "good traveler" in a lot of ways- any trip I take is fueled mainly by anxiety. Add an important wedding into the mix, and I am basically traumatised. Dont get me wrong, the wedding was beautiful, my sister had her day and the happy couple is now a married couple.  I...am basically a wild animal, and do not understand well enough the workings of like...regular humans in society.  Ah, I see I skipped last week :/ Well, I do have a work in progress photo of a new batch of ACEOs, and of course a sneak peek of the Sunday auction! Besides that, I am kind of boring lately, maybe I will ramble a bit... Okee, first- I managed to remember to take a snapshot of this new batch of ACEOs before finishing them: They are coming along well now, I've lined them all in ink and will shade them in grey ink soon. Then colors!  Sunday's auction this week will be a sweet little fairy and a bumble bee: She is titled "Bumble Buds" and again, she will be up for auction on eBay starting this upcoming Sunday (4/17, also Easter I see my calendar is telling me).  Okay, well Happy April Fool's Day...  Something of note: I am very very partial to jesters and the classic "King's Fool" trope, and over the years have drawn TONS of jesters, clowns, jokers, and all sorts of strange-humored creatures...In fact, the little demon nymphs I've taken to drawing over the past while certainly have their roots in my jester art.   Of course, all I have to share today are pretty fairies (sorry lol!) but still...it is SPRINGTIME and I am ready to only have to wear one pair of pants when I go outside.
