October Update- Autumn! Halloween! Dolls!

You guys Happy October!

It is my FAVORITE time of the year- the colors, the smells, the thin veil! Also, wicked hectic and just dang busy.  As a result, I have done a very small amount of art this month.  Or rather, I have a very small amount of it finished and ready to show. But it is Halloween-esque, so let's go:

Samoween Treat is a custom 'Trick R Treat' Sam character doll, created with a Monster High G3 Toralei doll.  Her orange basetone and her weird little smirk sculpt inspired me to finally make a Sam, and I am pretty pleased with how she came out. Everything is handmade, her hair is rooted acrylic yarn, she has a wearable mask and other familiar accessories from the movie.

Custom Toralie Stripe G3 Monster High Doll- orange skin-toned doll with orange hand sewn footie pajamas inspired dress, shoes, and Halloween accessories.

The website has not been updated with her likeness yet, but the doll herself is available for purchase in my etsy shop: zombietoes.etsy.com

You can see many photos, check out her accessories and outfit in detail, and read more about her there, too!

Another doll, now...and one of my favorite horror characters of all time- Candyman!! AHHH! I LOVE!!

This is Candy Ma'am- she is a custom Monster High G3 Cleo DeNile, gender-bent version of the original Clive Barker character.  Her eyes are tiny renditions of the movie cover.  She comes with "mouth bees" and an oversized ribcage and bees bling necklace, a 'Sweets to the Sweet' totebag, and her signature hook hand.  Many more details can be found at the eBay auction, currently going on HERE!  If she does not find her new home this round, I will be listing her in my etsy shop

Ugh, I just love her so much.

In other Halloween art, I have been decorating a bit- my decor is mostly Halloween all year long, but every year around this time, I add a little more juj. I made some fabric flowers from some scraps, wire, and skull beads I had floating around, and a wall sconce vase thing out of a coloring book page that I splashed some ink on in fall colors,, shaped, and then coated in Diamond Glaze. Added some eyeballs from my doll-making endeavors, and stuck it to a piece of wood. Ta-da! SO fancy.

Other than that, I have been wrangling a 7 month old kitten after her spay surgery last week. Or at work. So, mostly not able to be at the art desk with my focus and eyes averted.  Hoping things balance out soon, I have not even had a scary movie marathon yet this month! Oh, the horror! LOL.

Until next month, y'all.

xo!
